What do we know about Capricorn? Well we know it's an Earth Sign, a Cardinal Sign and that it ushers in Winter Solstice, we also know that Capricorn is ruled by Saturn aka Cronus. Who is that you ask? That, ladies, gents and those in between, is the daddy of the zodiac. That effed up dude that tried to eat all his children because he heard a prophecy that they might become greater than him and like overthrow him or something. So yeah, Saturn is a bit of a Control Freak. Cronus was a Titan and the Son of Gaea and Uranus, the latter of which he overthrew so I suppose he figured turnabout was fair play, hence the baby eating. All this to say this season can get a little paranoid and power hungry. The quest for power, prestige and success is all but overflowing from late December to Mid-January (19th to be exact) so you've been warned.
So now, after an expected amount of verbal meandering, comes my point. Happy (?) 2025, I'm in another play!
Oh this is not just any play, this is a play that is disturbingly prescient and topical. This is a play about "agitating" billionaires and really what could be more important at this, most depressing, period in history? The play is called Masque of The Red Death, based on Edgar Allan Poe's works and it's playing at Assembly Theatre from April 8th to April 12th 2025. If you are anticipating a certain amount of frustration or surely are already experiencing it, “Come and crush a cup of wine!” Or just come see the play, it will do your sad, agitated heart good to see the rebellion at your doorstep, it may even inspire you a little…..
