I know, soooo much going on. Tonight is the Solar Eclipse in Virgo at 29 Degrees that marks the end of Eclipse Season that has surely been a kick in the head for all of us. Just brutal. Tomorrow is Mabon/Autumn Equinox/ Libra Season/Autumn/Spooky Season, however you celebrate but regardless, stuff is HAPPENING.

So….would it be prudent to prepare for hibernation? Yes. Should you collect the necessary books to read for fall? Yes. Should you take long walks while listening to podcasts that teach you how to engage in the activism needed to change this effed up system and world? YES!! It's Libra Season dammit!! Beauty and Justice for all! And in the spirit of beauty and justice, take thou this and remember, you are a spiritual being having a human experience. It's all a simulation so whatever small thing you can do to help the simulation suck less for your fellow comrades in community and the oppressed folks out there….DO IT.

If you need to boycott, boycott. If you need to tell someone off, tell them off. If protesting will help people whose humanity is being questioned then protest, if educating others helps then educate others. As Jewel said your hands may be small but they're yours and….  “You never know when the good you do will come back around”

Nowadays Gillian Owens panicked refrain is echoing in everyone's consciousness. Protection! We all desperately need protection from all the deeply disturbing things happening out there. Well it just so happens there's a witchy solve for that, and a stone and a resin etc etc etc.

If you've got the ghost of partner's past on your ass, some wack non-friend, frenemy, psycho boss or some other ail that is deeply disturbing you, there's a myriad of things you can do to protect yourself. Here are a few:

Incense, every self--respecting person should have at least 2-3 incense holders in their home in preparation to burn away the disturbances or just create a pleasant ambience. Incense for protection includes: Nag Champa (the old faithful) this has been used for over 60 years and is a spiritual failsafe. The protection comes from the Sandalwood, which has a delightful scent of its own to share. 

There's also Lavender which has been used for protection for many years although more known for cleaning (hence the name Lavender from the Latin word “Lave” meaning to wash) its cleansing and protection properties are not to be dismissed.

On the stronger and more potent side of things we have Frankincense Incense and Resin sort of like the Bruce Lee of killing negativity. Undefeated and seemingly innocuous yet oozing with power and mastery of control, if you don't have Frankincense for these trying times GET YOU SOME.

Finally we have Sage, there's regular Sage and White Sage. I recommend regular Sage with a mix of Lavender, (note, you are not smudging that is a practice particular to Indigenous People and the appropriation of that word by non-Indigenous folks is rather icky).

Now let's move on to protective stones, for there are many, we can begin with the Black Stones, all are protective, the strongest being Black Tourmaline. Black Tourmaline is what you use when “go away” just isn't enough, followed by (in no particular order) Black Obsidian, Hematite, Onyx, Shungite. 

For non-Black protective stones there's Tiger's Eye or Tiger Eye in yellow, red, blue etc, Citrine (which is a great one as it is also a stone for prosperity and good fortune and does not pick up any negative energy) then (surprisingly) Pyrite and Lapis Lazuli. Lapis is an ancient stone, venerated by ancient Egyptians, buried with Pharaohs in their tombs and mentioned in the Bible. Put any of these stones on both sides of your front door or windows to protect you from bad energies (or people) entering your home and burn these aforementioned incense at least once a week to clear bad energy. It's ugly out there people, hold onto your humanity, stand up for what's right and protect your dang energy like Anubis guarding a Pharaoh's tomb.

Did you know they were considering naming Pluto after Cronus? Rude. The dude already has a planet named after him and an ego the size of said planet so it really wasn't necessary. I can hear all the Scorpios (who Pluto rules) breathe a collective sigh of relief since we know y'all are the Daddy Issue gang.  So happy Saturday! The Moon is in Aquarius in Waxing Gibbous in preparation for The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Pisces at 15 Degrees on Sunday (interesting for me because I'm a Pisces Moon in 16 Degrees so this one's gonna be a doozy) Anyway you can probably feel the energy stirring, the heavy branch about to snap, the curious desire to pick up a pen and journal, pick up a guitar and sing, get your paintbrush on, cook some masterpiece. Strange and wonderful things are afoot and the Astrologers all say this is a very VERY potent time, especially for Pisces, Gemini and Virgo placements so fellow Pisces Moons, Virgos, Pisces and Virgo Risings hold onto your pearls. If you were denying your intuition or the pull to learn more about the planets, the stars, the realms and dimensions or the spiritual world in general now is the time to stop resisting. Life is life-ing so now is not the time to turn away from your higher self or the impulse to be a better version of you and that means, caring for your local community and caring about your place in it.

Now Saturn used to rule (ostensibly) Aquarius before the Astronomers realized that Uranus existed, Saturn being the last planet to be visible by the naked eye without a telescope. I do find it rather silly that they felt the Daddy Planet could tell Aquarians what to do but hey, we all make mistakes. So since the Aquarius Moon falls on Saturday (today) it does give us a little preparation for the revolution of our souls tomorrow during the Pisces Full Moon/ Lunar Eclipse. What is a Lunar Eclipse you ask? I'll let Chani field that question. But Pisces is ruled by Neptune aka Poseidon the god of Water, Dreams and Illusions. It was once thought to be ruled by Jupiter but that was once again before telescopes, when Astronomers and Astrologers made decisions based on what the naked eye could see,  to this day some Astrologers still consider Pisces to be ruled by both Jupiter and Neptune which is quite lucky for Pisces placements being that it's the most psychic and intuitive sign (thanks to Neptune being dreamy and intuitive and Jupiter being the luckiest most auspicious planet.) 

What can you do to prepare for the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Pisces? Well, lighting some candles and reflecting on areas of your life and personality that could use an upgrade couldn't hurt. Where are you kicking your own ass and where are you being the Britta Perry in your own life and HOW can you fix it?

It is a card of messages and communication it is a card that is happening RIGHT NOW. No more delays, no more procrastination, now now now.

Yes today is the luckiest day of the week (ostensibly) do you have any Sagittarius friends or friends with heavy Sagittarius placements? Have you ever wondered why things always seem to just “work out” for them? This is because they are ruled by Jupiter aka Zeus aka Thor aka the luckiest god in the heavens. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, good fortune, success and optimism, that means Thursdays are in fact the best day to work on positive manifestations (don't know why you'd want to work on negative ones but anyways). The Eight of Pentacles is a card about grounding yourself and staying the course. With all this talk of luck and prosperity we must always remember that “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” therefore we mustn't neglect the nitty gritty and seemingly boring or mundane aspects of our journey towards success just because they are not as exciting as the rest and as someone with Sagittarius in my 6th House of Routine I can promise you that there is always an opportunity to invigorate the seemingly mundane and make ordinary tasks (at least somewhat) enjoyable. Unfortunately routine is part of life as is consistency and dedication and the 8 of Pentacles reminds us not to neglect this aspect of the journey as routine and consistency helps us to spark the creativity that leads to the ultimate outcome…..

Sorry, a little Greek humour there, since Saturday is Cronus, The Time God's, Day and all. Saturn aka Cronus created his own misfortune by being so anal-retentive and controlling after hearing his son, Zeus, would be born and grow up to overthrow him. Now granted overthrowing someone is entirely impossible and unnecessary unless they are in fact truly ruling something. Cronus wanted to be and stay in charge FOREVER, but Zeus aka Jupiter the planet of luck, good fortune and opportunity, was not eaten along with his other siblings, (yeah that's how Saturn aka Cronus was preventing their births by literally swallowing his children….ewww) due to Rhea, his wife and Zeus' mother, being sick of his shit, Rhea gave him a stone covered in swaddling instead of Zeus (yeah Saturn isn't exactly the brightest planet in the heavens, sure is pretty, but not that smart) and thus Zeus' fate as an appetizer was avoided and he did indeed come to rule the Heavens and overthrow his father Saturn aka Cronus as the prophecy foretold.

So what can we learn from this? If it happens it happens, often times all the plotting and planning in the world cannot prevent what must come to pass, the most we can do is be prepared when all our efforts are for naught, oh and stop trying to control everything and for gods sakes DON'T EAT YOUR CHILDREN! Now here's a card that Saturn should have listened to, if he'd followed his intuition (I know it sounds counter-intuitive that a man would have working intuition but hey, it happens) he would have realized that Zeus was meant to lead. The High Priestess is the source of all energy, she stands at the gate between the spiritual world and the physical world and thus represents the most streamlined part of ourselves that simply knows without question, without doubt, without reason. She just knows. Today with the Moon in Sagittarius (the sign that Zeus aka Jupiter rules) we are reminded that the key and the door to embracing our own success and happiness is in us all along we just need to use the key and find the door to unlock it. Yep, today is Mercury Day, Wednesday or Mercredi or Mercoledi etc etc. This is the day of the planet that rules communication, the gift of gab if you will. Your anal-retentive aka well spoken, witty, super engaging friends are probably the signs ruled by this god, meaning they are likely Mutable signs of either Air, (Gemini) or Earth (Virgo). Sometimes an over-analytical brain can prevent you from the simple pleasures in life. The Fool isn't about being stupid or someone who is an idiot, although it does seem that way since they are poised to fall of a cliff….it's about being at the beginning of a journey, maybe the journey will be good, maybe it will be bad, maybe both but the point is it's a start and it's best to approach it with an open mind and an open heart to be hopeful to see what is out there. This card is normally accompanied by a very agitated dog trying to warn this “idiot” that a cliff is ahead, I like to think of the dog as your intuition barking loudly at you on your journey preparing you in some small way for whatever is to come. The Fool doesn't really know much of anything since it's the start of something, some may call that dumb or stupid but some may simply see it as a clean slate and who couldn't use one of those?

A delightful time was had at Montgomery Inn! 200 years old and it still has the energy of a teenager. It was a pleasure playing the Farmer's Market on Wednesday. I'm keen to go back and have a look around the place….

I honestly just want Spring already. I know, I know it's like this EVERY year, but considering Snowmageddon in the middle of Armageddon I thought we might catch a break. Apparently not. The vibe is wack. It's so wack I'm going to drop one of my old, nihilistic poems inspired by Rimbaud, written measure for measure against the English translation of his Ordinary Nocturne. You know you're feeling the gloom when you dig into Arthur Rimbaud, a sad, nihilistic, little French man of yore.

Can't Rain All The Time but unfortunately we haven't seen the sun in a dark age. I wish people cared more, specifically more people in Ontario. The blows just seem to keep coming, and now because of Ontarians apathy and complacency we're stuck with Ford for another 4 years. 12 years of pure unadulterated hell. 

I hate how disengaged  Ontarians are and how they are so much less more concerned about what is going on around them and the people, neighbours, Community members suffering in their midst.  Watching as Doug Ford   clear-cut 850 Mature Trees from Ontario Place really broke my spirit and I just know that if no one stops him then having to watch him demolish the Science Centre would break whatever is left of it. 

I'm just tired. The people, like me, who fight the good fight are TIRED, We're tired of doing all the fighting while everyone else sits on their backsides and watches the latest show on Prime (which why, by the way, Amazon is the devil). Tired of being a small minority of people who are actively fighting for a better future for or a future at all for everyone, tired of watching thousands of babies, children, women and men slaughtered in Palestine and Lebanon and Yemen. I'm tired of seeing The Congolese people being expoloited, degraded, pillaged and abused for natural resources  (GREED) I am tired of hearing about yet another Indigenous Woman be attacked and left in pieces in some shitty place. I am tired of oppression, I am tired of the oppressor.  I am just fucking tired.
